Pristina Municipal Court Building Under Renovation

On January 6, 2011, the Justice Support Program and the Kosovo Judicial Council initiated a project to restore the facade and renovate the interior of the Municipal Court of Pristina.

The objective of the renovation is to facilitate public access, increase transparency and implement best practices in central records management in Kosovo’s largest court. The project is also focused on preserving the building’s historical significance while improving the working environment and maximizing efficiency. To promote open and transparent trial proceedings, the project will create additional courtroom space.

The project is implemented in cooperation between the Justice Support Program and the Kosovo Judicial Council. In total, 9 courts have been renovated with support from USAID and the Kosovo Judicial Council since 2009 through a 3.5 million dollar capital improvement initiative.
