KLP Assists CDC-UP in Ensuring Kosovo Job Fair is a Success
On May 30, 2012 KLP assisted the Career Development Center (CDC) of the University of Prishtinë/Priština (UP) with the organization of the Annual Job/Career Fair. The objective of the Career Fair (Fair) was to offer career opportunities for students and young professionals by introducing them to potential employers. The Fair was held in the Hall of the National and University Library of Kosovo.
Opening speeches at the Career Fair were given by the Vice Rector for Academic Research and Teaching, PhD Barjam Berisha, Director of the Department for Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Proff. Naim Hasani, from the University of Wupperta, Dr. Gerhard Rott, and the Manager of the CDC of UP, Mrs. Arlinfa Beka.
Those that participated in the Fair included 25 companies and 3000 students/graduates. KLP not only assisted in the organization of the event but also displayed a booth registering students who had an interest in legal internships. In total 206 students registered with KLP. Of those that registered 112 were male and 94 were female. Other institutions which participated in the Fair included the Center for Security Studies, DAAD, American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, French Cultural Center in Kosovo, Youth Initiative for Human Rights, Trepça Company, FINCA, KEP, Kosovo Banks Association, etc.
One student said about KLP, “You are offering the best opportunities for us, internships and trainings”. Another student said, “Even though the internship is not obligatory for us, I hope that through the internship I can find a job”.
The Kosovo Legal Profession Program (KLP) is implemented in partnership by USAID and the National Center for State Courts (NCSC).
